“The letters here offered to the public were a present from the late Dr. Swift to Dr. Lyon, a clergyman of Ireland, for who he had a great regard; they were obtained of Dr. Lyon by Mr Thomas Wilkes, of Dublin, and of Mr Wilkes by the bookfellers for whom they are published.”
