“Adelaide has frequently been called the city of churches; the Barossa Valley too has an abundance of churches, dotting the country-side, and dominating the main streets of its larger towns.  It might well be described as “the Valley of Churches”.
This book has been prepared with the intention of introducing the reader and visitor to the forty-two congregations of the Valley and their churches.  In some instances, their history dates back to the earliest settlements and items of interest of those times have been included.  Some congregations kept few early records and of these cases it has meant that only a brief account of their development could be given.  The sketches will remind the visitor of the variety of church buildings which he saw during his sojourn in the Valley, while for the reader they will show some of their character and beauty.”
