"To Ross Martin, a young English lad, going to live with unknown relative in remote North West Australia is quite an ordeal.  He knows nothing about the country or its way of life.  But when the plane carrying his uncle, cousin Harry and himself crashes in the middle of the desert, Ross finds just how tough and desperate life is going to be.  Over a hundred miles from the nearest help - and his uncle badly hurt.
The two boys soon find they have other problems.  Why have the usually friendly Aboriginals turned against them?  Who are the men whose plane has landed so near them but who refuse to help?  What are these armed men doing out in the desert so far from a town?
With the help of Wandoo, a young Aboriginal boy, Ross and Harry look for the answers and plunge headlong into adventure."
