'Soviet intelligence stumble upon an Anglo-American plan to use deep hypnotic implantation on Chick Kerr, and Englishman currently employed as a minor courier at the British Embassy in Moscow.  The Russians make other plans to recover the top secret information from the depths of Kerr's subconscious mind.
Irena Dvinskaya, a KGB section head, and one of her girls, Tatiana Kazakova, are drawn into the operation.  But Tatiana is in love with Kerr, and Irena with an American called Leeland, both attachments forming part of the Soviet scheme to recover the information.
