“A course of lectures contributed in the 15th International Science School for High School Students, sponsored by the Science Foundation for Physics within the University of Sydney, at the University of Sydney, August 28 - September 8, 1972.
We have chosen the general heading, “Brain Mechanisms and the Control of Behaviour”, for the 1972 International Science Scholl because its lecture course covers selected topics within the wide range of fields this tile suggests. In each of the fields discussed the lecturers are specialists of world renown and the material has been specially prepared, written and edited for fifth-year high school students. We therefore feel that the lectures will be of interest not only to the students, but to the widest sections of the public. We feel that the material presented will be generally appreciated by the increasingly more science-conscious layman in this scientific age and also, in fields other than his own, by the specialised scientist.”
