“This is a thoroughly revised and considerably enlarged edition of the Oxford Book of Australasian Verse which appeared originally in 1918.  The collection has a wide range; it opens with a poem written in 1823 and ends with a group of young living poets.
If a country’s poetry reflects that country’s life, here is a mirror of life as it has been lived in Australia and New Zealand for more than a century.”
