“Many science teachers have expressed concern at the lack of suitable textbooks in physics, at both the Intermediate and Leaving Certificate levels. The School of Physics in the University of Sydney has been urged to try to rectify this situation and the result is A Modern Introduction to Physics.
There will be three volumes: the present Volume I, concerned with Mechanics, Properties of Matter and Heat; Volume II, on Sound, Light and Electricity and Magnetism; and Volume III, which will deal with Atomic Physics. The topics covered in each volume take the student right through from Intermediate level tot the end of ordinary Physics I course in the University.”
