“this book is an attempt to put together some of the past of the district of Robertson Council Area.  At the time of the centenary in 1971 some was written, but it was felt there should be a wider coverage in area, and inclusion of more recent events, in celebration of South Australia’s Jubilee 150 year and Australia’s Bicentenary.
the early settlers, of mainly British and German descent, endured many hardships but many of the original families still hold the land.  The area is predominantly farm based with the land tightly held, and the movement from large pastoral holdings to small farms, is being reversed to larger holdings of recent years.  It is an interesting area geologically and geographically with varying topography and rainfall, vegetation and land use.
The Jubilee 150 Committee, with its sub committee for history, has compiled this celebration of its heritage, and family histories which were also submitted are to be stored in the Council records for future reference. .”
