Thus Eileen Steenson made her dream of flying come true.  She gained her private pilot's licence, bought a second-hand Tiger Moth, and after various adventures gained her commercial licence.  For some years after that she lived an unusual double life: partly as a school-mistress in one of  Melbourne's leading girls' schools, partly as a flier who took press photographers on hair-raising missions, and as a flying instructor and charter pilot.
