“This book tells the story of an Irish immigrant who came to Australia at the beginning of the century.  Our South land had much to give him, but he too had much to give in return.  At the time of the depression when many leaders seemed to lose all faith in their God, their country and themselves, his work stood out as a practical effort to help solve the problem of unemployment.  He then founded Kuitpo Colony, where workless single men could find a happy satisfying life in building up a centre to help others, while they trained for work on the land.  There, through twenty-one years, six thousand (6,000) men have been rehabilitated.”
