Donald Allan Dunstan, former Premier of S.A. had many talents, prominent among them the capacity to deal scathingly with any challenger, especially from the media.
IN the more turbulent latter years of his term of office, he began increasingly to rely on such experiences as ‘unethical, scurrilous, jaundiced and grossly improper” in his dealings with journalists.
In choosing a title for this book, we sought to portray Dunstan in conflict, and at the same time, comment on the political situation we had depicted.
Our solution came in the form of Dunstan’s own much-used expression, “It’s grossly improper…”
