"Meg Abbie Denton has been a dancer, dance teacher, dance notator and physiotherapist. A love affair with dance history began in 1970 when she wrote a BA Honours thesis entitled Professional Theatre in Adelaide.
Her appointment in 1983 as first Dance Representative on the Management Committee of the Performing Arts Collection of South Australia gave her the opportunity to sort and organise the dance material donated to that body, making it available to the growing number of students researching South Australia's dance history.
The largest amount of that material was donated by Joanna Priest, and not long after, she requested Meg, who had taught modern dance for her during the 1960s, as well as presenting a fortnightly dance segment on the television show Southern Stars, to write this biography."
