"What's it like being a Communist dedicated wot a policy of social reform and the overthrow of the capitalist society? There are strong reasons why people dedicate their whole way of life to working towards this goal.  But this single-minded dedication is not always enough to prevent constructive criticism as to the method of achieving this end.  And what happens to those who criticise?  Disillusionment until a bitter emptiness remains.  then follows the slow, painful realisation that for years their efforts have been for nothing; their dedication misguided and misdirected.
So the Communist Party in Australia looses many followers and concentrates on faction fighting.  By doing this it has lost much of its influence in trade union affairs and is generally in a state of confusion, dejection and despair."
