“The Hobart Walking Club has collected much information for bushwalkers, and articles on many aspects of bushcraft have appeared in the Club journal, “The Tasmanian Tramp”. It was decided in 1962 that there was a need for a reasonably comprehensive booklet on the subject, and “safety in the Bush” was the result. Information and experience were gleaned from many sources in order to present, as concisely as possible, the fundamentals of the essential bushwalking skills necessary to ensure safety in the Tasmanian bush.”
