The 'Caine' Mutiny

by Herman Wouk

Jonathan Cape, 1951, illustrated end-papers, red colour dipped top fore-edge, hardcover, dust-jacket

Very Good Condition, a little edge and shelf wear, a little rubbing to edges and corners, previous owners inscription in pencil on front end-paper, price-clipped dust-jacket shows some edge and shelf wear with some rubbing, chips, small tears and creases at the edges and corners, minor markings (see photographs)

"In the 'Caine' Mutiny, Willie Keith, who starts our as an insouciant Princeton boy and ends as a war-scarred captain, is the sympathetic character through whose eyes we see a drama of men in conflict with each other as well as with the common enemy.  The Caine had been a happy ship - too much of a tramp to be worth much spit-and-polish attention, its crew too constantly exposed to danger to need strict disciplining."
